One-Day Children’s Retreat 2026 – “Mirroring the Maker”

October 2 @ 9:30 am – 5:00 pm

“Everyone who is called by My name, whom I created for My glory, whom I formed and made.” – Isaiah 43:7

Baptist Church Sanathnagar hosted a One-Day Children’s Retreat on 2nd October 2026 with the theme “Mirroring the Maker”, based on Isaiah 43:7. The retreat was planned as a day where children could learn about their Creator, understand their identity in Him, and discover how their lives can reflect the character of God.

It was a day filled with God’s Word, worship, interactive learning, competitions, creativity, laughter, and joyful fellowship. From the morning sessions to the final prize distribution, the children were actively involved and enjoyed every part of the retreat.

Mirroring the Maker – Knowing Our Creator

The theme “Mirroring the Maker” encouraged the children to look beyond themselves and focus on the One who created them.

The children were reminded that God has created every person uniquely and with a purpose. Knowing our Creator helps us understand who we are and how we should live. The retreat encouraged the children to reflect God’s love, goodness, obedience, kindness, and other qualities in their everyday lives.

The theme was also carried into the competitions, making the learning more meaningful and helping the children connect biblical truths with their own lives.

Resource Persons – Making Learning Meaningful

The retreat was blessed by Mr. & Mrs. Ravi Voosala from Angels Ministry, who served as the resource persons for the main sessions.

Their approach made the sessions engaging and enjoyable for the children. Rather than simply listening to a message, the children were encouraged to participate, think, respond, and learn through interaction.

Session 1 & Session 2 – Who Is Our Creator?

The first two sessions focused on the important question: “Who is our Creator?”

Through God’s Word and interactive games, Mr. & Mrs. Ravi Voosala helped the children understand that God is their Creator and that every child is wonderfully created by Him.

The interactive activities helped the children participate actively and remember the lessons in a joyful way. The sessions connected the central theme of “Mirroring the Maker” with the everyday lives of the children, encouraging them to know God and reflect His character.

Worship Led by the Teens and Youth

Worship was an important part of the retreat. The teenagers and youth of Baptist Church Sanathnagar led the children in the singing sessions, creating an atmosphere of joy and participation.

The children joined in singing and worship, making the session lively and memorable. It was also encouraging to see the younger generation of the church taking an active role in leading worship and serving the children.

After Lunch – Competitions and Creative Participation

Following lunch, the children participated enthusiastically in the various competitions organized according to their age groups.

The Beginners group (3–6 years) participated in a Fancy Dress Competition – “If Bible Animals Could Speak.” The children dressed as animals mentioned in the Bible and were encouraged to explain the Bible story connected with their chosen animal and share what they could learn from it. The competition was designed to connect the qualities of the animals with the theme “Mirroring the Maker.”

The Primary group (7–9 years) participated in a Memory Verse Competition based on Galatians 5:19–26. Children could present the verses in either English or Telugu, with clarity, expression, accuracy, and actions forming part of the judging criteria.

The Junior, Intermediate, and Senior groups (10 years and above) participated in Short Speech and Essay Writing on the topic “Missionaries.” The children were encouraged to learn about a missionary, their place and work of ministry, the challenges they faced, how God used them, and the lessons that could be learned from their lives.

The competitions gave the children an opportunity not only to compete but also to learn God’s Word, develop confidence, express their creativity, and discover the importance of using their abilities for God’s glory.

Puppet Show by Mr. Prem Pagadala – Prem Children Ministry

Another special part of the afternoon was the Puppet Show presented by Mr. Prem Pagadala from Prem Children Ministry.

The puppet show brought great excitement among the children and provided another creative way of communicating biblical values. The children enjoyed the presentation while learning important truths through storytelling and puppetry.

It was a joyful and memorable part of the retreat, especially for the younger children.

Prize Distribution – Celebrating Every Child

The retreat concluded with the prize distribution for the various competitions.

The prize distribution was a special moment for the children as their efforts and participation were recognized. The excitement on their faces reflected the joy they experienced throughout the day.

More than the prizes themselves, the competitions gave the children confidence, encouraged them to learn God’s Word, and helped them discover and develop their God-given abilities.

Vote of Thanks

The programme concluded with a vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to God for making the retreat possible and to everyone who contributed to its success.

Special appreciation was extended to the resource persons, worship team, teachers, volunteers, parents, children, and church leadership for their time, effort, prayer, and support.

The retreat was a wonderful reminder that nurturing children in God’s Word is a shared responsibility. When the Church, families, teachers, and young people work together, children are given an environment where they can grow in faith and learn to follow Christ.

A Day to Remember

The One-Day Children’s Retreat 2026 – “Mirroring the Maker” was a beautiful combination of spiritual teaching, worship, interactive learning, creativity, and fellowship.

The children came together to learn who their Creator is, to understand that they are created with purpose, and to discover how their lives can reflect Him.

May the lessons learned during this retreat remain in the hearts of these children and help them grow into young people who know their Creator, love His Word, and faithfully reflect Christ in their homes, schools, church, and community.
